WHAT TO DO Abu Dhabi's Yas Island, just 10 minutes from Abu Dhabi International Airport, has become the city's leisure island, offering a beautiful public beach, championship golf course, Yas Waterworld, Ferrari World and Yas Marina Circuit race track. With so much to do, you won't want to escape the island but for a little culture, head into Abu Dhabi to admire the incredible Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque or venture into the desert on a desert safari. WHERE TO STAY On Yas Island, take your pick from a number of hotels including the luxury Viceroy Hotel (pictured above) which overlooks Yas Marina and the Formula 1 track and is a popular choice for many celebrities visiting Abu Dhabi. The budget Centro Hotel, is not what you would expect. Taxis from Yas Island into the city are relatively cheap and are easily accessible on Yas Island. WHERE TO EAT Abu Dhabi offers a wealth of places to eat, from tradtional Middle Eastern cuisine to Asian Fusion and everything in between. For a meal with a view try Certo at Souk Qaryat Al Beri where you can dine al-fresco with stunning views of the sun setting over Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. Or if you really want to splash out, the famous Emirates Palace offers a number of top restaurants that are sure to impress. FOR SOMETHING EXTRA
